2 Ingredient Kids' Snack!

Ingredients: Makes 15-20 bite size pieces

3 cups hemp seeds (or hemp heart, which are the same thing)
1/2 cup organic unsulphered cranberries
1 cup spring or filtered water

 

How To Prepare:

Place your cranberries and water into a bowl and soak for 30 minutes. Once soaked, place your hemp seeds, cranberries and water they soaked in, into a food processor and blend together until smooth, about 10-15 seconds. Once blended, place your mix onto a non-stick dehydrator sheet. Using a spoon, evenly spread your mix out over your sheet until you have an even thin layer throughout. See the picture above for thickness. Place your spread into your dehydrator and dehydrate at 115 for 24 hours. Then flip over and dehydrate for another 24 hours.

I prefer using a dehydrator to preserve all the nutrients, but if you choose to use your oven. place your mix onto parchment paper on a baking sheet and spread evenly. Bake on the lowest temperature of your oven for 30 minutes. Flip your mix once baked enough to not fall apart when flipping and bake until the moisture has been removed, approximately 30 more minutes.

Once dried or baked, cut your spread into bite sizes pieces and store in an airtight glass container in your refrigerator and eat them within 4 days. You can also freeze them and eat as desired. Freezing them also preserves each bite size piece longer as they will last up to 3 months frozen.
